MAE + LANG JEWELS began just shy of losing both of my grandmothers and job, within 1 month of each other. Shortly after, I began seeing LIONESS everywhere I turned. Whether on tshirts, trucks passing by in traffic, or hearing it in random conversations. One evening while cleaning my Grandmother's basement, my mother found a large clay cooking pot with a large Lioness head on the front of the pot. Realizing that the recurring of Lioness was my maternal grandmother encouraging me throughout those difficult times, I pushed myself to continue to work hard, creating a brand that was both inspirational and also honored my ancestors that have passed on.

Growing up, these women helped shape my womanhood and contributed to my creativity, strength and perseverance as a black woman. Hoping to shape and build the confidence of people all around the World, like a Lioness, my hope as a designer and creative of this brand, MAE + LANG, is that it encourages others to own their femininity, while standing in their POWER.
